Default 400EX, Good Starter Quad?

Just wondering, if i were to sell my moto4 and pick up a 400ex for 4 grand would it be worth it, any flaws in the 99 or 2000 models? also whats its wheeling capability, and top speed, it will be used for trail riding, and play racing. thanks.

How much do you weigh, how tall are you? I think it would be a good starter quad for someone 6' or bigger.

GET THE 400EX, from what i have heard the 400ex is the #1 wheelie machine and the Z-400. it is reliable and good on trails, i dunno what the speed is so i will guess around 70mph.

the 400ex is a great quad if you arent stupid...its got a really good balance and does AWESOME wheelies, jumps alright, and goes anywhere from 60-70 depending on rider size, weight, capability, and the terrain. Oh and its VERY reliable. People will tell you that you should get a 400z or the KFX400 because they are soo much better and soo much more powerful, but its a matter of 2-3 mph and not that big of a difference. you can pick up a cheap used 400ex and if you really need that 2-3mph that you would get from the other quads, you will have money from the diference that would easily give you that. Good luck

400ex is a tried and true machine. Rock solid and very reliable. Tons and tons of aftermarket parts out there for when you are ready to modify.
