Here in ALaska, we just give it the throttle, and kick our heels on the pegs and lean back with all of our weight and point the bars in the direction we need to go, and just go for it. We get a lot of drifts, and drop offs since it is all Tundra here and no trees, just rocks and washed up beach logs is our enemys.
Have any of you have the mat-tracks with skis on your quad, I have seen them, but never did any research.

I too can't wait for snow. I plan to ride my sled mostly, but would like to ride the trike in the winter. When I bought my 250r it came with a couple sets of flat track tires and an extra front tire. I want to stud a set for oval track fun. Anyone have any jetting recommendations for running a liquid cooled 250r (pipe and reeds are only mods) in 10-30 degree weather? As in, how many jet sizes should I go up?
6 inches in NW Lower peninsula last night.
Someone posted that they are trying to ban atv's on WI trails. Is that in the winter only or all year round? I can understand banning them in the winter, as it is hard to slow down for a quad doin 40 on a trail when you doin 90 on your sled. But personally, I have no problem with it as I know how to turn and stop (and I don't drink when I ride, that helps).

man im in interior alaska and we have a foot and a half already. i love riding my z400 in the snow. especially jumping and just flying down the road and seeing how many 360's you can do. i've gotten up to a 1440. Real deep powder is hard but when you have like a foot or two it is a blast. for those of you in the lower 48 just keep waiting. snow is coming and it will be a blast.
