Default TRX450R-What I learned today

It's funny you posted that, I've run into the same thing with it starting a few times. I never use the throttle. Even if I've just had the quad warming for 30 seconds and it dies, I'll start it with the hot start and it will actually run better. It seems kinda weird, because on one hand, the quad dies because it is not warmed up yet, however if you start with the hot start after it dies -even if it has only been 30 seconds, the quad idles perfect and is warmed up all of a sudden ????????? Default TRX450R-What I learned today

were you guys riding in Ocotillo or where ?
Thats some cool info guys - Just got my R broken in - and cant wait to take it out and open it up a little. Ive been riding for some time - and my last bike was the EX400 -and this thing feels a little like it - but NOTHING like it - if that makes any sense. You need to respect the power on this bike for sure.

i had some starting issues too - especially when hot - and I also found if you give it gas and use the hot start - you'll be there a while.

Gearing was tall - but Im wondering how this gearing will do in Glamis or big dunes - I think the tall 1st gear will be an advantage in the wide open dunes... you THINK ??

Later guys.

Default TRX450R-What I learned today

So far, I have only ridden my local hills (Reche and San Timoteo Canyons). Mostly ridgeline and valley trails, with KILLER steep hill climbs! Typical So. Calif. canyon stuff. Can't wait to get out to Rasor and Ocotillo. This is going to be a great bike for the fast wide open stuff, yet it will still handle the trails.

I just put on Holeshot XC's on ITP rims. Makes the bike +3" in back and +2" in front. Should be a nice combination of stability and maneuverability. Still got a lot of stuff to get: Skid plates, bumper, handle bars, nerf bars, IMS desert tank, etc. It's great fun building up a new bike!
