400ex Edelbrock Carb
i hear jetting their carb is quite different from normal carbs. i currently run a fcr and i really do like it. i just got it so it isn't tuned in to the max yet. i hear the edelbrocks should give alittle more low end power than the fcr's but the fcrs give more peak power. i don't know. the fcr gave me a bunch of throttle response over the stock carb. i noticed more torque and throttle response over anything else with the carb. it made my bike feel like it had a power band. it pulls great low end and then it seems to dip off but starts pulling hard again at higher rpms. however, this may be due to my jetting since i havn't dialed it in completely yet.

There is only a single fuel circuit. The "main jet" is not removable. Tuning is done with different needles and needle height (which is VERY easy to adjust without taking the carb apart).
The carb has some nice features, but doesn't allow for the fine tuning that a carb with 3 circuits has. If all I were going to do was desert race the 400EX, I would have kept the carb on. But, this bike sees trail and jumping action, so the bog on the bottom was not acceptable for me........turned out to be an expensibe experiment!

I had the same setup 440 kit / edelbrock carb / hot cam 2 / white bros exhaust- it was really fast- pretty much wheelie from 1-4. Never had any bogging issues. If I remember, the eb carb was a good size larger than the stock carb. I can't remember the exact #'s because it was a while back...
