Default 450R falling short?

Just an honest udate for you guys. I went to the canadian river today with a few friends. A stock 450R, a 440 EX and a KX 250 bike, a suzuki 400 quad and a piped raptor. The riding was a little of everything, crossing water, lots of trails, lots of hills, lots of space to air it out and a few wide open spots. The TRX 450 dominated!! None of the other quads or bikes could keep up with me or the other TRX. The guy on the other TRX is a racer and I couldn't pass him in the "trails". We got to the open field and I beat EVERYTHING, including the piped 250KX bike in the 400 yard drags. This HRC kit works wonders!! And I am 240lbs. I beat the stock TRX by about 5 lengths in the drags. We swapped bikes and he beat me by 8 lengths. ( He is about 195lbs.) I had to get back to the house so we came back to the trucks and one of the "dreaded" DS 650's showed up. This guy has been whoopin everyone on a pavement drag. I lined up with him and the KX on the street and they both got out on me, but as soon as I hit 3rd gear it was 3-4-5th gear and I was 3-4 ahead of the DS and right next to the KX once again. I then went and loaded my TRX in the truck and guess what? A truck pulled in with 2 YFZ's in the trailer. DAMN, I was already an hour late meeting my wife so I told the guy on the stock TRX to go give it hell and try not to get whooped to bad. He called me 2 hrs later. They all went riding together and of course he killed both YFZ's in the trail environment but also nipped them in the drags. He said, " I got out really good but they did start to creep up through the gears, but they never caught me on the big end, I held them a good bike-length back through 4th-5th gear. I wish you were here Blake, your bike would have really surprised them." THERE YA GO!!!

OK, the TRX sucks. You shouldn't buy one. The YFZ is way faster.

hmmm...so you're saying that Farr OPENLY talks sh** about the product he's being sponsored to race??? Doesn't really make too much financial sense to sponsor a racer that publicly bashes your companies quad.

ok, im still trying to figure out how people can say the YFZ is faster than the 450R. stock for stock, with same rider size, and same rider skill level, the 2 are dead even. maybe its cuz the YFZ doesn't fit bigger guys, but the 450R does, so the yfz has the advantage, or maybe its cuz people keep comparing things like a piped YFZ with a 145lb rider with paddles, to a stock 450R with a 185lb rider without paddles, the 2 machines r the same in speed! every reliable source has backed this up!

I didn't say he did it publicly - I have a few friends who go to every national and talking to Tim is pretty common. He is not happy with his ride. He wasn't happy with it at it's debut either, as he pushed it off the track, as the Asian woman standing there said "You should buy Yamaha" and everyone was speachless. I bet Tim agrees with her now

" The trx didnt have that low end as well as a mid rpm hit"

Just the opposite of EVERY magazine test.Another GREAT review here.....

man the trx, like the raptor, has a broad powerband and no it does not have a mid range hit like the yfz and stock it definetely needs more bottom end.

'cause YOU say so buddy? Not according to dirt wheels, atv action etc. They claim the Yamaha
has more top end and the Honda has more bottom & mid.Yet another uninformed opinion.....

I have been on the 450r's side, but it isn't going to run with a KX250 2-stroke.
