Default Installed Warn 424 Today.......Need Help

Finally got the 424 unlocker on the Rubicon today. When we were finished, I took some hot laps around the shop. Very impressed with the 4x2 abilities, but I'm having a problem disengaging it from 4x4 into 4x2. You can pull the lever back, but it will not lock into position. It slides INTO 4x4 perfectly. Slightly moving either forward or backwards doesn't help either, whether under throttle or coasting. HOWEVER, if you jack the front end up so the front tires are just off the ground, it will lock and unlock flawlessly. As soon as you set it back down, it won't go into 4x2. What's the deal?

Ok dude this what you need to do is just adjust the cable at the top. I've install a few and thats what I found to fix that problem. It should lock into sitten there may have to rock a little but should lock out of 4X4

First off, thanks for someone finally replying. I turn to this forum for help and I thought this would be the first time I was let down. Suppose I've already tried adjusting the cable?

I got mine installed on my Foreman about 3 weeks ago, and mine was like that too. What happened was that the initial place I put the bracket/**** made a slight (well, maybe about 20 degree) bend in the cable at the end of the ****. I then rerouted the cable and had to drill 2 extra holes in a slighty different position (I know have 2 extra holes..yuck), but in the place I repositioned the ****, there is hardly a bend from the end of the **** to the hole in the rack. It is now flawless in engaging/disengaging 4wd and I love it. I don't even have to think about pulling hard for 2wd drive or not; it just clicks. Good luck.
