Well guys I am going to look at one on Wed. and I think that I have found a pretty good deal. Here is what she is. A 2001 ES 4X4 with gun boot and tree stand holder for $2500. It has 1800 miles on it (is that allot?), and has been regularly serviced since it was owned. The guy who owns it has only used it for hunting and said that it is in like new condition. My only question is that he says that he ways 260 pounds, I was wondering if that much weight would have an affect on the shocks. I dont think that it would, but I could be wrong. So do you guys think this is a good deal?

As long as the Rancher has been serviced, runs good, and doesn't blow blue or black smoke upon starting it sounds like a good deal. If it were me I would offer $2000 and settle on $2250, just my 2 cents. About the shocks, I would say that the 260 pound guy loosened them up for you which is a good thing since a Rancher's suspension is normally stiff.

Good luck.

That is a great price if it is in good shape. Those quads still bring $3-4 grand used in good shape in our area.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. Dont worry about the weight factor. My father weighs 275 and rode our 01 for 2 years. Shocks were just as stiff as new.

I got it. Only thing wrong with it is that I believe it needs new brakes. Were can I find some info on valve adjustment and other maitinence stuff like changing the brakes?
