440ex jetting of stock carb HELP
with a 440 and no air box lid i would run around a keihin 160 mainjet. this is for around 600 ft above sea level and around 70 degree temps. however, the temperature and altitude you live at matters a decent amount. the cold months make the air more dense, thus you get more oxygen from the air. in turn, you need to increase your jetting. the same goes for altitude. the higher you go, the less 02 in the air so you need lower your jetting and vice versa.

440ex jetting of stock carb HELP
Hey this is 440LW again .I was just out zipping up and down the driveway ,and it's running alittle rough .The last time I had it out ,it was about 55 degreez ,now the temp had dropped to 45 .it is backfiring alittle ,and running kinda rough on the bottom end ,almost like it is not getting enough fuel (blubbering)<then you hit the gas ,and it back fires .Should I go from a 42 pilot ,to a 45 ?My air screw is out about 2 1/3 turnes. My main is a 172 .What do ya think ??
Thanks

440ex jetting of stock carb HELP
Hey ,I was wondering if you are really familiar with the stock 400ex carb ? If so , is the float baffle supposed to fit really sloppy over the main jet ,or should it be really snug ?I believe it is messing with my float level ,because it keeps falling down twards the bottom of the bowl ,it is VERY loose sliding over the main .
Thanks,
440LW
Thanks,
