Im thinking of buying a 400ex but i dont know if i should get the 05 or the 02 cuz the guy said he'll sell the 02 for 3,400 and was thinking about that price is that good because i never bought a used quad only new so wicth one would be better and the 02 has white brothers e2 pipe and nerf bars.

 

get he 02 as long as it runs good that is an awsome price

 

Yeah thats what i thought to but is the engine in the 05 better

 

nope same exact engine just the 05 have diffrent plastic and reverse

 

i believe that they geared the trans higher and dropped a tooth on the front sprocket- but i'm not 100% sure on that

also they have a nifty 450r taillight

 

same quad the 05 just has reverse, go with the used one

 

ur prob right nosliw i do think they changed the gearing they would have to to have reverse forgot to add that in but who cares still get the 02

 

I picked up a new 04 for 4400 this week, 3400 is way to much unless it has a ton of mods. Check out the atv for sale forum at exriders.com for real world prices...

 

If you can afford it I'd get the new one. Who knows what was done or not done to it. Did he run the pee out of it and never change the oil.and now it's making a little noise so maybe he thought it's time to get rid of it. I like to start fresh and document every thing I do to it so when it time to trade I can show anyone how it been taken care of. Sometimes when you(not always) buy used your buying into someone else's problems.
