Holeshotz, since when is a Majove an up to date quad? I can see you comparing it to a 300ex, but it isn't close to a 400ex. And if 300ex's arent that great, then how come you see them everywhere and not to many Majove's? And when you say KFX400, I hope you not giving props to Kawi.

I never said that the mojave was up to date or could beat a 400ex, i just wanted to make a point that kawie made a 250cc atv that could break even with or beat 300cc atvs. It also has more ground clearence and better suspension travel than a 300ex. The 300ex and the mojave both date back to the late 80s except the 300ex was a 250x. If kawie had that kind of technology in there quads back then and still do now why cant honda. As for why there are more 300exs around, they make more aftermarket parts for them and most people think that hondas are the most reliable atvs out there. As for the z/kfx 400 kawie and suzuki teamed up to make it

1st off suzuki did not team up with kawasaki to make the kfx and z400, that is a pure suzuki. kawasaki just rebadged it, it even has a madeby suzuki sticker on the frame. as far as honda i like how they use only what they need to keep things simple. u dont need excess if the simpler stuff works. do they need a locker? maybe, but thats about it. they are lightweight, reliable and torquey. if u want speed get a sport quad, not a couch on wheels. i honestly see no joy in throwing around a 600 pound quad when i can just bring out my 450r or yfz. and those two are just as good as eachother overall, so honda is doing fine there. is the z400 faster then the 400ex? yes,but i still think the ex has a better handling lower chassis with a super reliable engine, but yes id buy the suzuki. but my point is u cant bash ANY of hondas products, because even if they arent the best to YOU, none of them can be called a piece of junk. (yamaha-raptor, polaris- everything- but the sportsman 500 and predator etc) so say what u want

And there is a reason for that! The 300ex is probably one of the best all around sport quads ever built. Out of about 10 guys I ride with we all have a blast on 300's.
And Suzuki and Kawi didn't work together on the 400, Suzuki did ALL the work.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]

Im not bashing hondas, they are long lasting quads. My neighbor has a 86 200sx and another neighbor has a 1990 fourtrax 300 4x4 and they are both holding up and the 300 4x4 has been beat and is never maintained and probally is missing more parts then it has but it still starts on 2 or 3 kicks cold and the 200sx starts right up also and hardly brakes. all im syaing is that hondas havent changed since 1986-1990. Sometimes it can be a good thing if the product is ahead of its time and dosnt need to be updated ex:mojave,250r but besides the 250r which was ahead of its time and performes great most of hondas quads need updating bad.

ur knowledge on atvs also needs an update. how many quads do u know of that honda still makes since 1990? yamaha upgraded the warrior and call it a raptor and it still isnt as good. until honda feels they are getting beat they always step up. when the yfz came out honda had the 450r right after it, and they are damn close in comparison. the 300ex and 400ex are still two top notch trail quads. the foremans are among the best work quads on earth. all they really need to do is make a few more indepent suspension machines with lockers and bigger rincon with low range and locker and they're ahead almost everywhere

i never said anything about honda utlity quads being bad and i said that most never quads are based on older hondas with few changes like the 200sx and the 250ex and the 250x and the 300ex and i never bashed the 450r at all. All im saying is that honda has used the same technology on some of there quads since the late 80s without changing it
