if your refering to the 200sx and 250x designes, they are not bad over all but things like drum brakes on the 250ex, bad suspension travel on the 250 and 300ex and the terrible reverse setup on the 300ex and some other things. If honda just made these smaller improvements they would have much better quads. Also now that kawie dropped the mojave, no atv manufactuer besides yamaha makes a true "sport" quad in the entry class and next year yamaha is going to drop the blaster so there will be all shaft driven semi autos in the entry class. If honda wanted to be ontop they should have come out with a 200-250cc class quad that could compeat with a blaster or mojave but insted we got the 250ex

I personally wouldn't want a 250ex, but it is great for what it was entended for. It wasn't made to go head to head with a blaster or majove, it was made for newbies that want to go down the sport route and maybe is intimidated by a clutch. The only thing I don't like about it is the drum brakes. The shaft drive is less maintnance for newbs. It isn't made to be a race machine. So I don't see where you are getting at?

And there is something to compete with the blaster and majove, the 300ex. And I think it takes the cake at that. There is nothing I don't like about a 300ex, I can't believe someone would have the nerve to even degrade a quad like that. The reverse is unusual, but it isn't a problem for me or anyone I know that rides them. At least it has reverse.

"If honda wanted to be ontop they should have come out with a 200-250cc class quad that could compeat with a blaster or mojave but insted we got the 250ex "

Im not trying to be mean, but this statement is simply stupid. Suzuki has a the z250 which is practically the same thing, and your not ragging on it. Face it, your trying to take low blow at Honda. I could start degrading your machine, but you know what, I don't care if you ride a inferior machine or not, I just love to ride. My friends and I can inertain ourselves on little 50's and have just as much fun. Why? We love to ride and can enjoy any machine. The way I look at, the more inferior the machine, the more of a challenge it is to get thru obstacles.

You guys have odometers on your ATV's?

What the heck for?

My sister rides a 250ex - shes 10. fits her perfect.

I think the last decent honda was the 250r..

450r looks [promising - when they toss in a cr500 motor w/ forward kick start.

They need to make bad a$$ quads for bad a$$ riders. none of this pu$$y electric start $hit for bad a$$ quads.

Whatever happened to 'you can't start it - you can't ride it'

Maybe fewer kids would be killed if they weren't on bikes they couldn't start manually.

holeshotz, i agree honda is a little bit behind time, but u make it sound like they are a worthless piece of crap. and i dont know about you but i like to look good also. the 300exs looks 10 times better then the mojave. i think a mojave looks like a utility with without racks. the z/kfx was all suauki by the way and stock for stock a mojave will hang with a 300ex but it wont beat it unless the riders have different abilities. me i ride anything that runs, looks good, and performs good. u said that the mojave has more ground clearence well we lower almost all of our sport quads so the ground clearence to me and any other sport rider means nuthin. why do yout think the yfz and 450r set so low. because they handle much better lower. and as far as a beginner sport bike, none can go wrong with a 300ex maybe you should try one somerime before u knock it. me, i have rode both and i would pick the 300ex any day just because of the looks! performance their real close.

Heck with HI-Tech. I like simple things they last longer. I do not want my quad to be like like my Dodge truck. Every time you have a problem you have to take it to a shop to be worked on.

All I want out of my quad is to start, run and bring me back home at the end of the day.
I want it to do it's job and do it well. Some of my friends have the so called Hi-Tech quads they are in the shop most of the time for stupid problems.

I have one and a half days a week off. I shure do not want to be in the woods with my belt light flashing or some other stupid Hi-Tech gaget problem.

Honda makes a basic quad that does the job does it good and will do it every day.

Right, he meant Honda would only have to put a forward kick and a different exhaust on the cr500 engine to make it work in the 450r.

They should also make a 650EX with the XR650 engine.

I think Honda isn't the only one with these problem.

What, no Suzuki/AC 4 wheeler with a Firecat 700 xnowmobile powertrain.

No rebirth of the Odessey/Pilot with the Hyabusha motor and 2 ft of suspension travel all around and AWD.

You all are pissin in the wind

Harw;
Well, without "high tech", I'd still be watching TV on my old analog set, not on my new HDTV. I'd also not be able to use my computer and the Internet. My car would still have a hand crank and a carburetor, and get maybe 12 mpg. Naw, I'm glad it's got fuel injection and an
electric starter. We all find lots of good in "high tech", and we all are painfully aware of the cost of fixing any of those items that break down. Me, I'm ready to embrace them, including IRS, fuel injection, etc. Heck, I've even wanted power steering on my ATV! ('Cuz I'm a geezer!).
I'm not criticizing you whatsoever, just pointing out that we've come to embrace the higher tech stuff, inspite of the thorns.

amen.

also i hear people say that hondas brakes suck because there drums.
well my rubicon has 3000 kilometers(1900 miles) on it and the brakes still work perfect and there still clean and dry.
when i had my cat after 2000 miles the brakes where almost wore out.
even my p700s brakes have wore down on the front more then my honda and its got half the miles.
honda has a good thing with there drum brakes and thats why they are reluctent to change.
but everyone wants disk brakes so what did they give you this year on the rubicon.
disks.
and if im not wrong the rincon has disks also.
we wanted 2 and 4 wheel drive on the rubicon so they gave us that too.
all that dose to the rubicon is make it so the rear tires ware down faster.
im happy with my full time 4 wheel drive because i never drive into somthing and wish i was in 4x4 and then its two late.
and ive done that with my cat and my kawi.
honda is doing what the people what but there doing in there own time.
i can also see why there not going into the big bore quads so fast.
with there mid size quads doing so well.
i have a friend who has a 400 honda with 26" mud bugs and he can go anywhere all our big quads can and ferther.
and thats because its smaller lighter and it has an excelent 4x4 system.
so what if its not as fast, hes still out there and doing everything and more with his.
and hes having just as much fun.
honda has a wide veriaty of quads to ride, from 50 to 650 they have ones for beginers right up to the pros.
and besides that there still selling like hot cakes.
so what was the slap for ?.
