Hey Mud Runner I was just wondering how the Bayou 220 holds up with the kind of riding that you guys do. I was wondering what the capabilities of the 220 were. Thanks. looks like a lot of fun where you're riding, wish I had somewhere to ride like that, I'd be out there all day.

You can't compare a sportsman to a recon. The SP500 MSRP is twice that of a recon. Now if you wanted to compare a SP335 to a recon, the SP335 cost more but its not a good quad, its to heavy for its motor unlike its big brother.

The recon is the best 250 cc quad out there, you can do work with it & its handles great & has a peppy engine for trail riding. Our recon now has some sur trak mud tires & boy does that make a difference.

The recon isn't 250cc it's 229cc they just rounded it up to 250 for the name "Recon 250".

Bayou,
I gotta tell you that the 220 Bayou keeps up pretty well. Although it falls short on the roads, it's very quick and agile through the woods. I would go as far as to say it's one of the most comfortable quads in our fleet. I built a winch mounting plate up under the front plastic and was able to squeeze in a superwinch for added insurance. We literly winch ourselves up and down clifs in order to continue the ride. I really like the suspension.

To keep it short, I really like the bike. In all unbiased fairness, it can't quite compare to the Recon. But then again, The Recon was'nt around in 1992. Thanks for checkin out the Lair.

Had a Recon until the Rancher came out I am 6'2" 275# never really had a problem, never flipped it or turned it over, and rode very hard on hills and every condition.

xepathfinder, I usually enjoy your posts but this is too funny even comming from you. Basically if this guy ask you if a Honda Accord is a good car for a big person you would say "no crappy car, you'll be happier with Lexus". Have you been eating paint chips again? lol...later man.
