Default Thinking about buying Rancher..Some Questions

have you ridden a 350? did you ever feel the difference in the way it shifts compared to your 400? take you 400 go WOT and shift tell me if it bangs, i know it doesn't, try that on a 350 and you'll almost get thrown off the seat, believe me there is difference

My initial statement was that the AT has the same ES as the 350, meaning they both have electronic shift. I did not say they had the same tranny, or torque capabilities.

Yes, the transmission on the ES is different than the transmission on the AT. The reason you 'feel' your ES has more torque is because the AT's transmission does a better job of harnessing it and making it feel smoother. All things being equal, the AT will pull an ES in a tug-of-war.
I find it quite humorous that some kid feels the ES is a much better bike and would forgo a free AT for one. They use the exact same chassis, yet the AT has larger rear tires, has a 68cc larger engine giving more torque and horsepower, a better transmission that is fully engineered to work with the traxlok, unlike an add-on Warn, larger gas tank, etc. and weighs a mere 24 more lbs.
As for the mud-bog nonsense, how can one compare two different riders in two different circumstances with two different reports of whether the bike bogged down? Same riders in the same mud hole would produce different results.
Fact is, they are both good bikes for different reasons. To state that the ES with an aftermarket accessory is better than an AT just because your daddy has one is both pathetic and laughable.
I bought the AT because I wanted more power and the selectable transmission. Riding them back to back helped solidify my selection. And the measely $700 difference was nothing.

ATV Buddy,

You really need a quad because you spend WAY too much time reading and replying to these forums.

I really wanted one when I was a teenager also. I read more Dirtwheels and 3 and 4 Wheel Action(old school) magazines then I can remember. Hang in there, your time will come. In the meantime try refocusing your energy, go buy a Playboy to get your mind off of quads for a little bit. Just Kidding

PS Please don't hold it against me that I own an automatic.
