Default 2006 450R transmission ratio

thanks for this info, i was wondering this myself....seems like the 06 has better ratios..only wish they'd put a 6th on it....however if i am not on too much crack right now, or up too late, it seems that just from a GEARING aspect (not engine power) that the 04/05 will be faster??? 5th is almost as tall, the countershaft is taller at a 14 and the final reduction is less @ 2.7 vs 2.9?? am i reading it right?

i wish they would have made this machine in 04! estart, longer swingwarm FCR, etc etc. ahhh..man.

can anyone tell me if honda would offer a kit to convert the 04/05 model to e-start? what parts/part #'s would be involved and do you think it would work and be under hondas warranty? screw the warranty , do you think the parts could be acquired and put together without too much $$$ and hassle??

thanks.

I saw an add in dirtwheels for the E-start for $500.

How fast do you think the top speed will be?

Will it still be a good desert racer?

With the shortened stroke the engine will rev higher on the 06 hence the gearing change...

thanks for the input.

i know about the GOKI kit for $500 but I would rather all the parts be from honda. i hope they put out their own kit.

i will prob keep my 04 for now (unless i ride an 06 and am left speechless!) its almost paid for and is in excellent condition...but if i were on a mission right now to get a new bike, the 06R would be near the top of the list...
