Default Looking at Buying a Recon

My wife has one and its a little monster, itll go anywhere she wants it to!! we floated a creek the other day it was 3 ft deep and came right out and kept on going!! but the brakes are a little touchy when it comes to water or mud.

i have a 2001 recon and i rode the heck outta it untill i got the rancher... the recon will go just about anywhere.

it sure is fun to ride. The only thing that happened to it was the swingarm berrings went and they needed to be replaced. other than that it was fine. it is a tough machine like i said will go just about anywhere.

Recon is a good little quad,I have a 2005,bought new and had one major problem. After riding about 15 hours had first maint.done, rode about another 10 and it starting smoking(white) badly.Dealer found that clip holding piston came off and destroyed cylinder.Running ok now after rebuild.Very cold blooded though and takes two or three starts to keep running with a little choke adjusting.Overall I like the recon but wish I ponied up and bought the rancher.

If you get a recon get the manual foot shift, not the ES(electric shift) cause if you get the ES version there is a good chance the angle sensor will go bad, that happened to me and plenty of other people. But other than that its a great quad.
