Yeah I've seen that dealer advertise on cycle trader (at least I think it's the same dealer. It's in Va. with rock bottom prices anyway) Anywho It pays to live close to the mfg.

Anyone know what invoice is on a 420 4x4 ES?

Congratulations on the awesome deal.

I love my new camo bomber!

I ran with the airbox lid off for a bit yesterday. Felt like it gained more top end, but not so much difference on the bottom (bottom end is great to start with anyway). It really did increase the NOISE however, which is a negative. I want to keep mine as quiet (stealthy!) as possible, so I am going to stick with the stock exhaust until I can find something aftermarket that is reasonably quiet.

I noticed that during the 50 miles I've put on the new 420 that the motor backfired twice coming downhill in gear. Has anyone else had thiers backfire? My 350 never once backfired.

802 miles and no backfires here. No troubles at all so far and it's been worked hard daily. This thing's tough as nails.

Backfired once VERY LOUD, just as I shifted up going down an hill. Scared the **** our of me!

Honda tends to "jet" lean from the factory, to meet emissions standards. Maybe a remap might be in order??????? Give it time, and I think we will see lots of various options available for this macine.

ReconRanger, Just a thought and please correct me if Im wrong. Doesnt the 350 have more of an open front differential while the 420 is torque sensing? With the heavier ATR tires, narrow front end combined with a torque sensing differential I can see where the front end could act a little undecided as if partially locked with 4wd engaged. Just thinking out loud.

I put 26" mudlites on on mine and yes in 4wd it would fight you in a turn, but it would do the same with the stock tires. in 2wd it steers fine. I did not have any weird stuff going on at all. I also put it in a huge mud hole this yesterday and it pulled out so easy. Right after i went through and came back a KQ 700 with 27's got stuck. it really impressed me.

The 350 and 420 have the same "torque sensing" differential as does the entire current Honda lineup.

i recently bought a 420 4x4 regular shift for $5200. its prolly the most expensive thing ive bought but i know since its a honda itll last for a good while. mine has backfired about 4 times but it still goes so it really dont matter to me. i think the only thing ill do to it is put some 25" tires on it and a HMF exhaust. this shouldnt void the warranty either. i already think it has enough power i just think it needs a little more GC and a little sound.
