when my FMF pipe burnt a hole in my plastic i was ticked. It had some heat tape on it but it still burnt a hole in it. Did this happen to any of you other 300ex riders when you put an aftermarket pipe on it. I heard some guy in atv sport put a WB pipe on his 300 and it did the same thing. What should I do???

I have a complete WhiteBrother's system on my 330EX. No holes till I flipped the machine up-side-down in a XC race. The full weight of the machine was resting on the back fender pushing it into the exhaust pipe. Now I have a big hole(I had heat shield installed also).
Scars add character.......

I have a supertrapp pipe with race shorty on my 300ex and there is not a complete hole yet but a small bubble from the heat. I hate to say this, but I agree with CStark, Scars add character. Gonna have to try some sort of anti heat wrap in that spot maybe. I am just ognna leave mine.

Well... I was dumb and put my new rear maire fender on and forgot to put new heat tape on and when i came home part of my fender was stuck to my pants, so i strted it up pushed the plastic back as much as i could while it was hot, then when it cooled i put this thick heat tape allover the back of the part that was buring and put a sticker on the front where it melted.

So if you are worried about melting your plastic go out to a local auto or anywhere they sell heat tape i got a big roll of it at a auto store and it was way thicker than that little stock heat thing they have on it so i think it should stop it from melting anymore than it allready is.

If you can figure it out your doing better than i have. I've gone through 1 roll of heat tape and the stock fender, and now my new maiar fender is bubbly
