Dear ATVers.

A friend of mine purchased a used 2002 Honda Rancher 4x4, he has no user manual and the big quesiton is, how is the rear brake assembly release? The control is in the down position. The previous owner has intalled a SPST switch on the right handle bar, and we are not sure of the function. Is there a solenoid of the like that releases the rear brake?

Don't know if I'm following you, but if you are talking about the break pedal being in the down position and not releasing, it is probalby frozen up. The Foremans and Ranchers do this alot. We tried to pull the pedal off on 3 of them and couldn't get it off. We ended up drilling into the pedal and lubricated it well. Actually, it took about three holes.
