02 rancher 350es wont go in reverse??

My 02 rancher 350es goes through all gears just fine, but it hates to go in to reverse unless the motor is warmed up very well.what could cause this?

Sounds like the reverse lock-out cable isn't adjusted properly ..

Another thing to check is if the reverse switch on the back of the engine is good or the connection is not loose

I had a wire pull off of my 2005 and it wouldnt go into reverse. It was on the bottom side of the motor.
