Help with shifter fork 2000 Rancher
#1
I have a 2000 Rancher 4x4 es. The electric shifter quit working and I used the manual shifter to the point the quad would not shift at all. I believe my electric shift problem is the angle sensor. Wish I would have found that out eariler. I bought a repair manual and believe the shifter fork is my problen, it was grinded down and warped. I ordered a new one and put it back in and the 4-wheeler took first gear and then nothing. I took the plate back off and the shifter fork and jumped outside of the "v" it sits in. I have put this back together 5 times trying to be careful and every time the shifter fork still jumps out while attemting to cahnge gears. one time it cranked the quad and shifted manually first through fifth gear and back down to first with no problem and then when I tried it again, it done the smae thing. I was told to stand the 4-wheeler up so the parts that sit behind the shifter fork would stay in place better. I haven't tried that yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think I'm on the right tract but just not sure. Sorry for the long post, but I need to get this thing running again. Thanks in advance, Jeremy
