My 05 rancher At is blinking the esp 6 times.I did a search and saw that it is the angle sensor (this sensor has been replaced by the dealer many times before under warranty)now i have no warranty and have to do for myself.i noticed it as a recoil/spring to it.does it have to wound up to be installed or just slip it back on?BTW new here and it looks like i'm not going any where since i own a rancher.lol.thanks

 

my 05 rancher is blinking 5x and won't shift out of 1st and reverse feels like i am flooding the motor? does this sound similar? if so where is the angle sensor?

same deal,mine in reverse sounds like it has a rev limitter.mine is the at model and the angle sensor is on the left side of the motor.you will need to remove the cover and its a black round plastis thing that has wires connected to it.does your grind when to put it drive?

 

The angle sensor on the TRX400FGA/FA must be pre-loaded as it's being installed ..

one more ?.when you remove the gear selector motor,do you have to set it up a certain way?or do you just slide it in?how do you reset the ecu?
thanks guys for all the info.i will be buying the sensor and a service man. in the next few weeks.its pretty hard to spend all that money with these times.if anyone has a used manuel at a good price,let me know.thanks

Fault code 12 on the 400 auto is ECM motor driver circuit, not sure what that means but I would go for checking the motor's brushes are OK, and inspect the wires that go to it for obvious breaks.
