Default just got carbs fixed now bigger problem

i just fixed the carbs on my 03 honda rancher ES 2x4 and was riding around the house when all the sudden it stopped running and i was surrounded in a cloud of blue smoke. I let it sit for awhile and started it back up, it runs, but leaks blue smoke out the exaust big time. My question is what is wrong? how difficult is it to fix? also a idea of how much it cost would be great.

thanx

Smile Blue smoke

Blue smoke definately burning oil, check your compression to see if your rings are worn
If compression is good, then sounds like you have a valve issue, check your valve adjustment/clearnces and if thats good i would assume you have a bad or burned valve, leaking valve seals or worn valve guides.
Just by chance- did you recently fill your oil?
If so it might be overfilled-make sure when you check the level not to screw the dipstick back in, just dunk it down as far as it will go and check the dipstick. I have had a few smoke like crazy when they have been overfilled.
Hopeully its an easy fix and you will be back on the trail soon
