Nearly STOCK ex beat raptor

Don't want to start alot of fighting or anything but today my buddy beat a raptor. And the guy on the raptor knew how to ride, raptor jumped out of the holeshot first but once in second the 400 screamed past the raptor and beat it by about a bike and half link. They raced about 1/4 mile.
The ex mods bases of this and ONLY this. Nooleen full exhuast system, k&n filter (airbox on), and a 175 main jet. Thats it. I myself have about 1200 dollars of mods into the engine alone and i don't beat this guy's ex by a whole lot. I don't know why it's fast with those very few mods but it is. Once i hit 4th gear i'll leave him in the dust but 1-3 i'm only about a bike or 2 in front of him. This guy is my brother-in-law, so i know that's all he has done to his bike.

Are you talking a 1/4 mile drag race?? If so, it must have been one of those infamous Raptors that dont have 4th or 5th gear.

Like i said i'm not going to start anything. But i didn't get on this forum and lie or anything. I couldn't believe it myself. But my eyes didn't lie.

Stock raptors are not that much faster, about 5 mph more than a stock 400ex because of the raptors restrictive junk stock exaust and the gearing. Put a different pipe on it, smaller front sprocket and it will blow 400ex's away. I drag raced my friends stock raptor in a field for a short distance and we tied but on the open road he pulls away.

I beat a guy with a raptor on my old built 400ex, then the next week bought a raptor though and realize he must suck at riding!

I want to race a raptor!I just want to see how I do.Any takers?I put a 440ex to shame and smoke the crap out of 400ex's.So how about it?

35 previous rides. Yes one or more were 295r Hondas. One was a Trinity w/ an mx port and one was a CT w/ dune porting. The Trinity was more useable on hard packed. It took me till fifth gear to pass my buddys "Bone stock Raptor" on hard packed when we raced from a dead start. He jumped out to a seven bike lead. I had a 14/38 gearing on the Honda. Thats when I sold my Honda's!! My raptor will beat a 250 in the dunes and a 295 has nothing on it. I don't hill shoot!

Just curious.I have owned plenty of 250r's,and i think Paul Turner makes the best pipe for a 250r.It rev's a lot better than an fmf.Try one after you race a raptor with your fmf.

I beat the same raptor today with my 416. I believe the raptor was all stock with white bros pipe.
