my 06 rancher is an es 350, the elecric will shift up and down all the way to neutral, but wont shift down to reverse. the manual will shift into reverse and the level indicator was changed, any suggestions?

 

on the back of the transmission is a wire plug on post. you can see it by looking forward and up at the transmission from the back wheel area.the wire is short and will come of the post if hit by a stick or rock. i had the problem with my 2000 350 es and had no reverse all summer, i assume yours would be the same.
