My name is Shannon and I just pit a new one way bearing ,shoes and springs in my centrifugal clutch. I have it back on and the but is snug but I can't keep the crank from turning when I try to torque it to 87ft lbs like it calls for..how do I stop the crank from moving so I can't tighten it properly? Thank you

A trick I use to take the Primary clutches off on snow machines, is a rope down the spark plug hole with a knot at the end of it.
It jabs between the head and piston at TDC , then you just pull the rope back out once your done.

Only do this on the compression stroke or you could bend a valve.

I replace Honda clutches regularly and use an impact air wrench, just holding the clutch by hand. However, after spending ten years assembling truck axles, I know how to get the right torque by “feel”.

I did it with a piece of pull cord ..it jammed it enough to get it tight then I hit it with the electric impact. With the pull cord it jammed it but it wasn't big enough so it would let go and not jam right up..shouldn't of bent the valves I hope at least it didn't jamm up that tight.. Nuts tight anyway ...hope for the best and lots of compression with my finger over the plug hole..thanks guys
