#31
Well i just received my Super Trapp form Rocky mountain atv it is not the normal super trapp though it is an IDS 2 it has a plated name plate (not a sticker) it also has an oval end cap which the others had a turn down round one. before i put it on though i would really like to know how many discs to run in it. I am also considering a K&N filter how much would that help? would I need to re-jet my carb.?

MattH, you ask a few questions whose answers depend upon your planned winch usage.
"How does the weight of a 2000 pound Superwinch and mount (underhood) effect the handling and
steering effort of a 300 Honda 4x4."
The ATV2000 weighs 13 pounds; the T1500 weighs 12 pounds. Negligible effect, less than a cooler's.
"Also has any one had any problems with this winch, did you use
it enough to justify it, and is 2000 big enough or could I get by with is 1500."
The "Superwinch Any Good?" topic reports lots of personal experiences. As far as justification, a winch (or comealong) is like an insurance policy; only one critical use in its service life may justify it, depending upon your riding conditions (i.e., remote areas? alone? severe weather & terrain? etc.). Big enough? In my opinion, either 2000 or 1500 is adequate for a 300cc quad, WITH A ****** BLOCK.
Good luck.
