Noticed that the tires on my Rancher 2x4 seemed quieter than those on my previous ATV's and after seeing a sales brochure in the Goodyear store found out why. Goodyear designed the tires for Honda with silence in mind and did it by staggering the lug pattern around the tire. The normal tire spaces the lugs evenly around the tire but on the Tracker CL the lug pattern is not even. On hardpack dirt or pavement the tires on my other ATV howl like crazy but the Rancher tires do not. According to the sales brochure the difference in spacing is not much but apparently is enough to do the job. Whatever they did it seems to work.

Should have mentioned that the Goodyear Tracker CL tires only come in sizes 24-8-12 and 25-11-10 which are the stock sizes on the Honda Rancher 2 wheel drive models. Goodyear calls it a 'pitched' tread design to reduce tire noise-whatever, it works.
