I used the Plastic Renew on the rear fenders of my (red) 01 250 ex and was very pleased. It takes some elbow grease sanding, but you get out of it what you put into it. The back fenders now compared to the front are like night and day, getting the front done soon. Have any of you guys used this and my concern is does the finish last long or scratch off easy? Appreciate any info.

It cost $17.00 and comes with the liquid (chemical) and sand paper (not enough), steel wool etc. It refinishes your plastic and mine turned out excellent with like new gloss. I didn't sand out all of the deep scratches but I guess you could if you wanted to spend that much time. You sand it down w/ course to fine sand paper. Then put on the chemical, 4 coats. Buff it w/ steel wool and put on 2 more coats. I was surprised how good it looks but wonder how well it holds up. It says it will hold up to normal washing and pressure sprayer but you can't put degreasers on it like dawn or gas, etc. as it will eat off the finish. I'd say I may use 1/2 bottle of the chemical for 1 atv. It says Honda red and Yamy blue requires more sanding/ finishing but mine turned out killer. The plastic looked terrible before, someone had tried to sand it w/ course paper in all directions, it was almost white.

I personally have not tried it but they claim it will start flaking off after a while but who knows. Someone else said use mop n glo, it does a good job of shining up your old plastic.

We used Plastic Renew on out old LT50. Turned out great. We had the bike for about a year after that. There were a couple of places that had impact chips that started to flake, just took a light sanding in that area and then a quick recoat over everything.

It's not perfect but if you put the time into the sanding process and carefully work your way up from coarse to ultra fine, you can remove most scratches and 'white plastic' and get a good looking quad again.

I would recommend a recoat 2-4 times a year.

i used the stuff on our old trailblazer and it looked like crap, because i didn't sand enough. we used it on our raptor and it looks brand new, we had to sand forever, i like to put it over stickers, he helps hold them on,
as for the boot marks, take sand paper and sand them out.
