I don't think just because Kawasaki is releasing a high CC sport quad is any reason for Honda to be upset. While I beleive that its about time for Honda to build something bigger than the 400ex, I don't beleive that kawasaki is going to be their downfall. Honda needs a good reliable 450cc or + reliable machine to market, and they will. And here is kawasaki marketing some big **** 700cc automatic tranny sport quad. First of all, who wants an automatic trannied sport quad? Secondly, what about reliablility, as for me, I ain't buying no kawasaki. Until I see it, I believe that this new kawasaki is the least of honda's concern. There sales are more likely to be hurt by the sale of Raptors', Z400's, Cannondales, and Bombardier's.

It doesn't matter what a minority says about belt drives. The fact remains that they are now extremely popular; probably the best selling transmissions made---user friendly, effective and relatively cheap to manufacture and repair compared to other types. Thats why Polaris started using them on most of their models which got the ball rolling. Honda may have the answer for the belt drives in their Rubicon and Rincon transmissions, but they aren't cheap to manufacture and it is reflected in the price of the machines. I think the belt will be around for quite a while, and the Kawi 700--- it should be a blast!

lesser braking system???
im not sure i heard you right.
since when are the brakes on the EX bad? and as for the tranny, why would you want the extra weight of the shaft drive?
i think that part of the fun of owning a quad is being able to work on it yourself without having to rip it apart. try working on the KFX700 or even the scrammy without taking all the plastic and the belt cover off of it first. believe me, ive worked on my friends scrammy, it aint no fun...

As for the extra weight, I think those 300 extra ccs will help in carrying the 125 more pounds.

See I am buying this so I can trail ride in MAINE. You can cause there is actually some ground clearance under the rear, A real skid plate, and no chain. Perfect for us guys who want more sport but still want to use it in other places besides railroad beds and dunes.
