Well, it can't be anything other than the TRX300FW, so I think that's a pretty good deal for $300.00
Parts are readily available and unless it's been dropped from a hlicopter, you should be able to fix it and still keep the bottom line cost under the value of it.
Nearly all parts from the 1999-2000 TRX300 models fit the older versions and these parts are usually up to 75% cheaper than the older ones simply based on where the parts were manufactured!!
Plastic is no big deal. You could get a new grille, front fenders, rear fenders, kick starter cover, and all the decals for under $300 if you order from a 2000 model. All the plastic will interchange from any other TRX 300.
The fuel tank in a different story. Honda uses a Japanese vendor to produce all of their fuel tanks that are made from steel. They are very pricey. If yours doesn't show any signs of rust, sand and prep your tank for paint and contact Color-Rite Distributing. They deal direct to the consumer and are the ONLY company authorized to produce EXACT color matched paint for any of the Japanese Motorcycle and ATV companies.
Good luck with your new project!!
