Default 1988 350 ,4x4 ,clutch adj.

anyone with info please help clutch ,was slipping bad,so loosened locknut turned adjuster to the left till startedto get firm,This seemed to help for a couple minutes ,then started slipping again .If adjuster turned to the right ,makes it hard to shift .Can it be helped or is the clutch shot .If so where to get a manual at a good price

Proper way to adjust...loosen (turn counterclockwise) til you feel resistance, at this point all the play is taken out of the linkeage from the clutch lifter to the shift pedal. Turn one quarter turn to put in a slight amount of play. If it still slips you need clutch work (unless maybe your pedal is hanging up which you should have noticed). On those older 350s be sure you replace the clutch springs as well as the plates. They're not too expensive and I have seen them get weak. Sux to take it apart twice.
