If it just has to be dead use gramoxone.
You'll have to find someone with a license to buy it for you. Its what we use to sterilize the fields between crops.

Probably need more Round Up for a plant that size. You used a rate that would be common for turf or small weeds. I say double the rate and see what happens.

That was another idea I had, was going to tripple it or so, maybe do some test spots before doing a mile of trail; at the price of that stuff. LOL Thanks.

The stuff I used to clear poison ivy is now called Brush Be Gone. Works extremely well.

Do you have a local Noxious weed building/office that takes care of your county?
They are a great source for info and sprays. That is what your tax dollars are for.

Just a thought here. Since round up is a systemic (needs to get in the plant) try using an adjuvant to help the round up get through the leaf cuticles. Don't know why I didn't think of that earlier.
