Default P650 floorboards

Just bought a 2003 p650, though concerned a little about the metal floorboards. My concern came true the first day of riding. Now I have a bent footrest and am wondering if there is a composite replacement anywhere on the web for the p650. Do not want, or see the need of putting the over priced stock boards back on. We go over a lot of logs on our trails and I need a floor board that is going to take a little more punishment than the stocks. I'm very surprised I haven't seen this problem posted anywhere on 3 atv sites. Thanks

We slide over rocks and logs all the time. Rarely someone dents a board, but that's about it. Nothing some pliers and paint can't fix. I wouldn't want a plastic one myself. I don't think it would take the abuse any better and probably worse.

I would look into a skid plate down the middle. Then maybe see if you can fabricate some plate to go under the floorboards off the main skid.

I hadn't heard much about floorboard abuse. I tweaked my LH one a little at The Windrock(Tenn) ride. REAL rocky terrain there.
Wait 'till the black plastic starts falling off..................................

I had a 450es honda I rode the same trails for a couple years and never had a problem with the plastic boards. My big concern was it buckled my plastic on the fender and was afraid it wouldn't handle the boards being bent to many times. I am going to look into a better skid plate and check on some fabrication of some kind. Was hoping to find another choice on floor boards. Thanks, I do love the new ride.

Maybe you shouldn't have bought such a cheap quad.

Sounds like you got some lemon floor boards or just nailed something just right to bend them. I've had no problems with my floorboards so far and this is the first time I heard about this kind of problem in the P650.

LOL I guess a real expensive quad has crome letters say HUMMER on the front LOL Seriously though the floorboards are not an issue and I would replace mine in a minute if one broke because mine has been though alot and of course they are bent up a bit but I can bend them back down easy afterwards. I would look at a better skid plate though if you find you are hitting the floorboards alot. Bigger tires also add to clearence and you will not hit as often.

Thanks for all the replys, and don't pay any attention to kc335. It was his land I boogered up my floor boards on. He's my best friend, even if he does drive a Polaris.
