ChaosinMT, at least down here, some of the places like Big Cypress, the trails at this time of year are rack deep water, and in some places, engine sinking quad floating deep(full of gators of course). An extra few inches could be the difference in making it or sinking it out there. If that were the only place I rode and didn't cherish my 650's high speed handling, I'd probably install a lift kit too. That stinks about the oil leaks. Also the only time I've heard of it. My outlaws never rub, but I've gotten high centered plenty of times... those swamp buggies dig some really deep ruts!

Sometimes we ride deep in the everglades, which is always deep water, and full of creatures. Seeing 30-40 gators per day of riding is not uncommon. Last time we also saw a black bear, 3 deer, a few snakes, and tons of gators of course. Occasionally you see a 12-13 footer and it's humbling! Makes ya hit the throttle a little harder! Also the last time, I wasn' t watching closely enough for the tell tale gator signs of bubbles coming up from below, and the gator thrashed, and headed right for us. It (luckily) passed right by between my tires and a tree(I could have easily stepped on him, he was that close). Oh well, luckily they aren't quite as aggressive as croc's.

Any more luck with the lift kits?

650forme,

The clip is on the 5th ring. I don't know when a pull is scheduled but I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I'm running a high lifter kit, but I've only put about 6 hours on my KVF. (got it last week). So far I'm happy. Rode a friends 650 without the lift and there is virtually no difference in feel as far as center of gravity and tippiness. I'm also in rack deep water on many trails, so the extra height was a welcome addition.
