KFX 700 - shaft drive final gear ratio
#1
From what i've read here in the forums it seems that the stock vforce is'nt producing the kind of top speeds the other 600 plus sport quads are capable of .
In the all-terrain magazine they did a review on the KFX 700 and said that it had lots of torque on take off and excellent mid range but the most disappointing part was it's top speed .
quote from magazine :
After the initial torque surge has worn off , the relatively low horsepower numbers leave the kfx 700 searching for more gear . Anyone who knows engines knows a high torque , low horsepower engine needs tall gears to produce high speeds . This trait is even more pronounced with an automatic CVT
transmission because you don't get an overdrive style sixth gear . Horsepower is speed , torque is chug . The kfx 700 chugs like a tugboat but does'nt spin fast enough to produce the kind of speeds other 600-plus sport bikes are capable of . - end quote .
In the magazine they firmly believe a way taller final gear ratio would greatly help the 700's insane wheel spin on take off and allow it to much higher top speeds. Having this mod may actually help its holeshot for less spinning or having the front wheels going in the air . Is there an aftermarket company looking to address this issue?
