Kawasaki 700 VS Polaris 700 Respondants
I would like to say a BIG thank you for all your responses!! I am very surprised by the generosity of the forumn and how everyone chipped in their 2 cents!
Just to update everyone on what decision I made.....I have purchased the Polaris 700 EFI. Now before any of the die hard Kawi's bash me..... I bought my Bayou 300 2WD new in 1990 and loved it. Only problem I had was the boots. I loved how the Bayou handled and it drove like a KING compared to anything else. It was hard to part with it last week as I sold it for $1000 looking to buy a 4WD quad. I almost signed the papers on a Kawi 360 4WD, but I was thinking for $1300 more ....why not the 700? That is when I started to compare.
To be honest what sold me on the SP 700 EFI...... was in fact the throttle response and handling. GOSH AT THE POWER. You all have GOT to drive one. I test drove one where I live (south GA) and was about to think the $ 7899 price was not worth it. Then when I was reading posts the other night in here I learned of a place in Chattanooga TN that sold Polaris' cheap! I called them up just to ask if they had an 700 EFI and just curious of price......WOW!! The salesman on the phone was really curtious and the price of the 700 EFI was below the $6900 price of the 700 Carburated Polaris that I looked at locally. I am going to pick it up Saturday.....7 hr drive..... but worth it!
Now I know that I may run into some flack about service locally, but heck the way all see it all quads require limited service IF you take good care of them!! I guess since my 1990 Kawi had the original tires on it and still shined when I washed it.....I should not have too big of problem.
As far as trail riding, I have never done it and will be riding posts from time to time,,,,,, you never know I may decide to come join some of you all.
Once again, thanks for the time to respond!.......
Richard

Gacollege,
Good for you on your decision I to would like to see and ride the Sp 700 EFI I like the EFI format there will be no messing around for elevations. After market modds maybe a problem but I would think Pol will have that addressed fairly soon. Once you have your machine come on back and report your results from a few rides. I am about to install an EFI system on my P700 should be fun I can't wait to see how it works for me at least. To me any brand is worth the result of getting out to enjoy the outdoors I would ride any machine if meant sitting at home or go out for a run to me there would be no question. Maybe one day we can ride together have fun good luck on your new toy!!
