will Prairie 700 mud with the big ones????

Thinking long and hard about buying a Kawi 700 and slapping on some 29.5 Outlaws. It will take some serious fender work but the power is there to turn them.
Anyone have any experience with mudding a 700???

I'm also seriously considering the outlaws. I think they would be unreal. As far as mudding the prairie I've only got the 650, and have no problem staying with or cleaning up on grizzly's etc, despite their obvious ground clearance advantage. I think the new Arctic cat would do well, especially with the kawi motor and irs. Some guys from highlifter saud they've been having problems with their belt slipping on the new cat. Despite having the same motor as the kawi the low range is supposedly taller than the prairie. He says even with clutch kits the cats are not big fans of 28" and larger tires. I haven't seen one in action, so this is only what I've been told.

my p700 has 27" itp 489 m/s' on itp c-series rims and most of the little "tweaks" such as heavier clutch springs, module, snorkel, k&n air filter, jetting, hmf full exhaust, front end alignment, etc... IMHO the p700 has such a power advantage over most other quads, it makes up for the limited clearance afforded by the SRA(solid rear axle). I have the black with white stripe spring (on the engine side of the clutch) which stalls the rpm up more than even the famed red spring. It takes a little getting used to, because it takes quite a bit of throttle to get the old girl to move, and when it does it "surges" forward as the clutch grabs the belt. Not really good at all for rock crawling or any slow technical work...but the wheelspin it will allow in such a small distance no matter how thick the muck (so far), is well worth it to me. it launches so hard from a dead stop if there is any traction at all it usually pulls the wheels, even in 4WD. Unless you are going to do nothing but muddin, consider not purchasing a tire you must have a lift kit to install. reason being, I can swap out my tires and still go do a little high speed trail riding, pop it into 2wd and flat track a field with the 2wd crowd, compete in informal wheelie contests and drag races. try to imagine the look on friends faces when their shiny little race quad gets smoked by a big camoflauge, racks galore, hunting utility quad. the p700 community should get some kickbacks from the aftermarket...we inadvertantly sell so many high compression pistons, exhausts...etc.(to everyone trying to catch us!!) sorry, i didn't intend to write a novel, hope this helps!!

to answer your question... YES...
In open class mud bog racing, I'm undefeated over the last 3 years... I've raced & beaten every brand of quad out there, equiped with every kind of tire out there... this is the first year that I'll be running any kind of engine modification ( the first 3 years, it was only a 650... now a 750...look out... )... around here, the Prairies dominate, with the Grizzlys & Polaris's somewhere just behind...
Click on my camera for mud bog pictures... & I agree with GRAPEAPE... I can easily run 28" tires without a lift, & this allows me to esily switch to hare scramble racing, Ice racing, pulling, etc...
