Default Needle shims on V-Force?

Venforcer, I went to Radio Shack today and all they had was one washer pack with 20 each different sizes. When home, I mic'd the ones that fit the stock needle and they are .031 . Did you mic yours, or where did you get an .020 ? Your midrange plug color sounds good- do you have a wot color? Did you notice a gain/drop in performance?

pistonman, I made the shims myself. I used 1/8"pop rivet back-up washers. Sanded them down until they mic'd .020". They fit the needles perfect. I hav'nt had a chance to really rip it yet because i live in town. But i did take it down the street about five blocks and pulled some good wheelies. Overall responce feels real good. I'm glad i did'nt get the radio shack one now. I think .031 might have been a little fat.

Yea- I'm not going to use the .031-might try to sand them to .020, but they are stainless... Hobby shop washers were suggested also- now I may have to search out the da#% pop rivets, don't use those too often... waiting for a 148 jet, hope it's in friday.. gonna measure the D.J. shims too- better go take 'em out.
