i dont think their the most powerfull 250. The LT's made the most HP Stock, but the honda r's had alot better suspension. A stock LT250R with the powervalve Makes 31hp at the wheels. calm down with the 43hp rating. thats almost a quadzilla. But the tecate 4 is awsome.
LT250R's 250r's and Tecate 4's are some of the greatest quads made.

maybee so in stock form, but the 42hp rating is way off. Its more in the mid 30's like, 35. But they had some bad suspensions and lack of aftermarket support. Thats where the LT and Honda's really took off. Expecially the hondas, allthough i dont like how they look. I could take any tecate running without NOS or Overbore/stroke. i know it.

Suspension/handling is one of the biggest arguements made against a Tecate-4. The funny thing is that most of the riders making that claim either have a 250r or an lt250 with aftermarket suspension on them. Nobody keeps the stock shocks and Kawi realized that and didn't sink much R&D into them. The T-4 suspension was stiffer than most because was designed for use on the motocross track.
When I got my T-4 I swapped out the stock front shocks with a cheap set of Works and it was a huge improvement. Later on I added rezzies and had them valved/sprung for me and a set of old Roll a-arms. The rear shock was rebuilt and updated by Fox Racing an suddenly I had a great handling machine.
I've personally been very happy with my T-4. They take quite a bit of punishment and still come back for more.
