Default ? about Dayco belt for 650 prairie and 700 V

I have seen the part #'s for both and the length only seems to be the differance. hp 2018 for the prairie and hp 2017 for the V. My question is , can i use a hp2017 on both my 02 prairie and my V. Or should i get both ?

I'd like to know too. I just got the 2018 cuz it says its for the 650, which I have an 02 p650. I run black spring and shimless. I also would like to know if I should have gotten the dayco belt 2017 or if the one I ordered is good enough. The 2018 is a little longer than the 2017 according to the specs.

they both should work. I have both the HP2018 and the HP2017 right here infront of me and they are basically identical. The stock kawie 700 belts will work fine on a 650, so if thats the case then the Dayco belt of a 700 should work fine on a 650 too. I cant find anything different about these belts, but the difference could be internal. Its possible that the HP2017 is a stronger belt because its for the V's and 700's and 750's? I dont know. My guess is you shouldnt have any problem.

if there is a difference in length, i cant tell by pulling them both taut in my hands, so it has to be very minimal...thats the best i can do though.

There is a slight difference between the two, I believe the 2017 is slightly longer. You can use either one though.
