Default Speed limiters..........WHY???????????

Does the Brute, prairie and the v-force engines de-tuned or have some sort of speed limiters. The dealer i got my Brute from said the v-force could go over 100 if the it had not been limited. Is this true?

In a word.... NO. It is true they all are limited (some more than others) but 100mph stock no. They can all be made to go that fast maybe just with clutchwork but none of them can do it just by loosing the limiter. The new CDIs, modules, degree key all work on loosing the limits set by the manufacturer to avoid liability and law suits. They also figure that it is supposed to be an off road vehicle and the newer quads can already go faster than most speed limits on interstate highways.

Default Speed limiters..........WHY???????????

Trail lawyers and A$$H0L3$ who think its SOMEONE ELSES FAULT when they get hurt.
This subject makes me sick. Here in Ohio a jury awarded some snomobiler about 3.2 mil (undisclosed) for breaking his collar bone, an arm and dislocating the other shoulder.
Seems he it a cable used to keep tresspassers out.
Yeah, he was tresspassing.....and the place was posted. Seems the owner should have known the snomobilers have been using the property he just bought for the last twenty years and kept a light on the cable, a light on the signs and the snow off the cable..
IF I were tresspassing and hurt myself, God willing, I could crawl off the property and nurse myself back to health with out anyone finding out....
A pox on those dirtbags.

That makes me sick.....this is a perfect example of a loser wanting something for nothing. Stop illegally trespassing on other peoples property is the only answer.
On the speed limiter issue....utility atv's are not made too travel at high rates of speeds...NOT MADE FOR HIGH SPEEDS! Get a sport atv if ya want an atv intended too be drove at higher speeds. A mule is not a race horse.

Default Speed limiters..........WHY???????????

Hello, I have just purchased a Brute force and I am in the process of breaking it in. I also was wondering what kind of speed I could get if I put on a Dynatec CDI after break in ? This Quad will do 65 at half throttle and at full throttle. There has to be some type of limiter in place. I only have 5 hours on it and the Idle just started coming way down but it still gets loaded up when Idling. DOes anyone have any suggestions or will this clear up after break in and my new CDI box? This QUad is great to ride and makes you forget your on a large 4 wheel drive. Thanks for any help.

100 MPH is just not possible with an unmodified engine on the Brute or Prairie. Ask Alltoys, he had a blower AND NOS when he hit 98.

Default Speed limiters..........WHY???????????

nighthunter, i just did the first service on my brute force. not that i thought it idled rough by any means when i got it, but it does seem to be a touch smoother at idle now. i havnt got a chance to really ride it since i did all of the oil changes but it doesnt seem smoother. whether it comes from changing the oil i dont know. if possible do the service yourself it is very simple compare to my rubicon. just for a note the front diff drain gave me alittle trouble and the oil filter. they were on there pretty good. dont overtighten the drain plugs. hope this helps. i dont plan on any cdi boxes or anything like that. i tend to like the reliabilty and once you mess with stuff things tend to go wrong, though i did put itp rims and 27" mudlites all around
