Default Snap Ring Removal on Secondary Clutch Spring

Anybody found an easier way to get the Snap-ring off when adjusting Secondary? I'm using a fabricated tool and PVC cap like the one on NYROCs site and getting the Snap-ring on and off is a royal Pain. Ive tried using a Zip-tie to help keep the ends from spreading. May have to fab a cap from aluminum to give me more room to open and close the snap-ring pliers.

Everything else goes quickly. Just that pesky Snap Ring!!

Will do. 2" PVC cap was just readily available & easier to cut out openings for Snap-ring pliers.

I don't have a picture of it on here guys....but what I did was instead of using the pipe cap.....was use a large square metal washer....and drilled a 1/4" hole in each corner....installed an 1 1/2" X 1/4" bolt in each hole, with nut on the underside of each. These 4........ 1/4" bolts sit nicely on the secondary spring collar and leave you lotsa room for snap-ring pliers once the "compresser" is tightened down. If anyone wants, I could take a pic and throw it up in my pics.

Thanks Jeff:

Please put close-up picture of spring tool in your Photos. Also Where did you get your front bumper & winch setup & cost?

Awesome looking bumper. Your winch should Definately should stay out of the Mud now.

Tuff.....I'll take some pics today as i'm going to the shop anyways...will likely be 24 hrs from now til i get them up though.....The bumper/winch set-up is just a Kimpex bumper but with my homemade winch mount. I don't like dragging a winch thru the mud/water all the time, and like having access to it when needed.

Thanks Jeff. Shoot a picture of your Winch Mount Also. May have to get me one of those bumpers & Mod it. The stock bumper does not stick out far enough to protect your front fender plastic or keep items/small trees from lodging under your front fender/Floorboards.

the thickness doesn't matter and the bolts are the same distance ( corner to corner ) away from one another as the spring "collar" diameter.
