What kind of formula are you using to keep yours cool. Mine will outrun about any sport quad made both stock and lightly modded. But it still hard to keep cool. Got any good pointers. I like the evans coolant it has got it ridable but about 6 or 7 drag runs and I am still tripping the temp light even on cool days like we have now, I don't know what I am going to do this summer. I also notice the performance starts to drop after each pass untill I trip the light and park it. Once its cooled back off its BA. again. I have been trying to find a new radiator but no luck so far.

 

I would look into a thread on engine oil adapter plate that is sadwiched in place by the oil filter if it were me. The weather has been cold enough around here that I have not yet had a cooling problem though.

 

Are you running evans coolant, and do you still have your stat in.

 

I am not running Evan's coolant, and I do have the thermostat in. I have also switched to colder than stock plugs.

WOW thats good. I have done about everything i can think of, to try and keep mine cool. Mine has run way to hot from word go. Last time we pulled the stat changed to Evans swapped the plugs changed to a race mix 111 fuel, and she still won't stay as cool as it should. Even in cold weather 30-40 degrees it was boiling out the other types of coolant we tryed. All those changes we made last time has just got it to were I can ride it. Its in the shop now getting the fan keyed (if the key is on the fan is on) we thought that might head it off. I was also thinking of adding a cluch kit, I hered those will help with heat issues plus I read were wrapping or having the head pipes ceramic coated might help. I was thinking it was the extra strain put on by the sand might be exploiting the problem. But as I recall you ride in the sand allot also. I guess its all in who is doing the engine work. I am just baffeld now.

 

You said that right, but at least your's isn't the one that is in the shop right now with a broken cam chain. Good luck with the cooling problems.

We ran 25" Taller Hallers on the 700 Prairie and 25" Paddle Masters on the 650 Prairie last year in CA. at Glamis. They work great.
The Prairies work fine without them, but with they go a lot easier.
Paddle Masters are a little heavy, but are a very heavy duty tire.
Tall Hallers have made the trip twice now with out any problems. Very light weight.
