Default Cheap winches

Has anyone ever tried or known anyone who puchased and installed one of those $100.00 wiches that are on EBAY? They are made in CHINA so I am certain they are no way as good as a WARN, but I am wondering oif they would get you out of the occasional mud pit.

What is involved in installing it, would I have to purchase a mounting bracket from Kawasaki?

I am sure they will last as long as the USA ones....... as long as you don't use it!
You get a winch to get you out of the thick stuff. This is a tough task to ask of a piece of electrical equipment. Why not spend the extra to get something more robust?
Also most of the Chinese models come with a switch that is almost as large as the winch itself!

I for one think we need to stop buying so much stuff from China! These are the same people that benefit from our jobs going overseas and lest we forget...... they are still RED China ya know Communist.

Yeah they may never try to overthrow us by military might but they could buy us out if their economy was as strong as ours. The only way their economy could ever get that strong would be from our dollars.

Sorry Sammydog for ranting here.

You are completely correct DaRiot. I drive an American truck (Dodge) and try to buy American as I feel as you do, that we are going to become another shell of a superpower like Russia unless we start supporting our own economy.

China has had increasing double digit economic growth every year while we are just going deeper into dept trying to save the planet.

Thanks for the wake up call.

With that is the Warn 1700 any good and made in America?

Thanks

Don

4 X 4 Truck parts is selling the Milemaker 2500 lb winch for $200. Might be worth investigating. Can always fab you a bracket for it.

Little Bill

I saw the winch on the harbor Freight Website and was wondering if it was too good to be true. Thought it was an indoor use item and the picture did not look like the winch was that waterproof. Good to hear some positive feedback from someone that has & used one.
