Stock hp is 325 now, it was 300 back in 03 for the 6.0L. So you are telling me that you gained 225 hp and 500lb/ft of torque with a chip, intake and exhaust? I could see 150-175hp with a rather aggressive program, but I would think that you should have had to tune more than just those components if you are truly hitting that kind of power.

Hey maddog learn your HP numbers they 6.0 are and always have been 325 the ft. lbs rose 10 lbs on the 05. Besides the hp on the modules are at the rear wheels therefore they are higher at the engines. Please get your facts straight before sticking your nose in conversations. What is so hard to beleive you obviously are someone who loves a gas powered engine and think there are the greatest thing ever made and will never be beat by anything. I hate narrow minded people who can't see past there nose...

Besides yes you can gain 225 hp on a diesel with just a chip. Look back at the duramax engines they could gain that by a simple plug in play module. The new ones cannot b/c they have the same style turbo as the 6.0 and they cannot handle that much power. So again learn your facts before posting.

....
My step-father has a 99 F250 SD with the 7.3L PS. I have a couple thousand miles on other F350 SD powerstrokes, some stock and some with 80-100 hp chips. Power increase was dramatic and I had no problem outrunning a slightly modified 454 GMC 3500 duallie from start to finish with the 2 chipped trucks. I love the PS and maintain that its the best diesel availible in consumer pickups. The cummins is a solid engine and continues to improve as well, and the duramax is infinately better than the old 6.5L TD in the old C/K GM pickups. I'm not a "gas lover" and I could care less what you think about it.
When the 6.0L came out for 03 along side the 7.3L it had some issues but boasted some serious improvements. But I did remember the hp and torque ratings being fairly similar since the 7.3L had been bumped up from its original 285hp to 300hp. I was under the impression that the 6L was at 300 or 305 hp upon its initial release and has been boosted since that time.
I just believe that a 95mph quarter is awfully fast for a chipped SD.

No the power was and still is 325 stock and like I said you can get the chips over 200 RWHP for some trucks. The 6.0 PSD can now get like 165-185 but it is really bad on the turbos. But the 6.0 is a totally different animal than the 7.3 it will blow the doors off a 7.3 any day of the week. Unless the 7.3 has extensive work done to it.

I'll do you one better, the 7.3L never left the factory floor with more than 250hp, up from the original 210 for the 94 1/2 model year (235 in the first SD). Torque rose from 425 in 94 to 525 in 03.
The 6.0L debuted in 03 with 325hp and 560lb/ft which has since grown to 570lb/ft.
I'll happily admit that I was way off with my presumptions of the 7.3L engine's performance. I still think that 95mph in the quarter is pretty fast for your setup, but then again I've seen people claim much more outrageous things about their quad's 300' or 1/8th mile times. Its not a big deal to me, but IMO you are on the generous side of the radar gun.

They also claim it is capable of going in the 90's slightly modded and 80 stock what planet are these people from. The simple laws of gravity and physics will not allow it to happen. They also think they are really getting 60-75 Hp on these things they would be doing 0-60 in 5 seconds then they can barely do 0-40 in that time.

One magazine did say something about a wheelie at 30mph but must have been exaggerating or using the terrain for help.
The 800 is just a little slower than the BF and is actually faster to 20 and 30 mph as stated in ATV Magazine. And that's at 160 lbs. heavier!
