May have burnt my belt

i posted this in the yamaha section and go no responses so anyway.. i was fishing with the sum saturday and drug 2 big heavy trees over to the camp fire pit it was in sand. had a little trouble but got them to the pit and now i hear a rattling sound where the belt is and wondering if i damaged it and should i change it?

Don't know much about the Yammies/clutch ssetup, But, a belt is a belt. Pull off your cover and see if there are glaze marks on the sides of your belt and measure the width an deflection to see if the belt is beyond limits and or just need tightening.

thank you tuffenuf your the only one that responed i will check when i have time today i have to help my uncle get wood for shed he wants to put up.... maybe later tonight i will check it if i have time.. would u happen to know how much they cost?

No Idea on price, an OEM Prairie belt goes for about $70, A Dayco belt for about $35-40. Best bet is to get you a shop manual for the Yammie so you can perform routine maintenance, and call your Yammie dealer parts section, get the Part number for that model and contact ronayers.com for a better price.
