Kawiyowee, What did that XT set you back, about $10,000?

Yes, when all was said and done, it was a little over $10k including taxes, plow, and remote plow angle selector. MSRP is $9400 for the 800 XT, but the dealer matched a demo price I had of $8800 which included a 3 year warranty from BRP built in to the price.

The Outy Max 400, 650 or 800cc is a true 2 seater, removable seat, extra $ for a cargo box, 8" longer than the standard outy, very stable, would be good for hunting. 689 lbs dry wt vs 639 lbs on the standard outy 800, about 30 lbs less on the 400's. XT's are heavier due to winch, tires, bumpers.

BTW, I hear Bombardier is no longer associated with BRP, and also that they are moving their operations to Mexico. Personally, I would rather they stay in Canada, but I don't think they are going to.

Toughguy, I've rode the 400outy, it probably would be good enough for a hunting machine, sure rides nice i"ll tell ya that. The 400 is pretty revy and responsive but lacks the big bore torque and accelleration. Remember they are putting out a 650 also, maybe that will suit you.

yamihoo/toughguy- - - - I did some looking into the viscolok on the Bombs and found this to copy and paste for you:

'Push the 4wd button and it works when needed and disengages when not needed. The big benefit to having this differential is with the 4wd button engaged, you have 3wd or an "open" differential. This makes steering and handling very easy and also gives the extra traction of the 3rd wheel being driven. When things get a bit tougher going and you start to lose traction, the Visco Lok will sense the front wheel is spinning and lock in the other side. Now you have a locked front end, true 4wd to help claw your way out of that nasty mud hole.

This works very well in most situations, however, there are times when a "true locker" is superior to the Visco unit. For example: say you are climbing a steep technical rock trail. You start spinning enough to lock in the front dif. and things start going OK, but you have to let off the power. Now you are back to 3wd and have to spin a front wheel again to lock it. This is a situation where you do not want any wheel spin and a true locker would be much better.'

So yamihoo, there is something to be said for the diff locker over the bomb viscolok in some situations.

I took a 400 Outy for a ride, man they ride and handle great,as for the 750 for hunting is use my Brute primarily for hunting with no problem,as for the Dyna or VDI I went with the VDI,which ever you do go with make sure you take it out before bringing your machine in to the dealer guys have been getting their warranty's cancelled on them.
