scrapheap what city was it forsale in and what kind of condition was it in. I have been looking for one in really good condition just b/c of the lack of parts and plastic out there for them and i can't find one. Last year I was a day late and lost a mint condition tecate that the guy only wanted 1800 for i could kick myself for not getting there sooner

If anybody is interested, I have an '87 Tecate-4 that I want to get rid of. It's currently in pieces, but is 99% complete, and has a rebuilt motor with 0 hours on it. It is white, and somebody before me painted the frame blue, but the frame and suspension is straight, and could be a good parts bike or project for someone. After I bought my near perfect '88, I pretty much lost interest in finishing this project. E-mail me with any questions at brianc@artmorrison.com.

Hi All,
I also have a Tecate-4. Mine is was in line to be a factory race bike for Jimmy White, that is who I bought it from. I have been riding it hard for 11 years now. At first I raced it, some motocross but mostly TT type tracks and the once in a while cross country race. When I could not find any more races (N. California) I rebuilt it for the dunes. The motor went to CT and has the following: 300cc liner, 39PWK carb, CT pipe Chrome. I powdercoated the frame Lime green. I made wider a-arms when I was racing +2". The seat was done by Cascade. It has a aluminum air box for a 250r from CT (fits great). All new plastic as of 3 years ago. Th front shocks are from FOX, I have had these for 8 years now and still love em. The rear shock is from PEP, I think it is from a 3 wheeler, wayne at PEP knows the shock he built it for Jimmy many years ago. I freshen my shocks up every couple years. The bike is very fast and reliable. At Glamis 250rs will run out of gas before me and I beat them and many other bikes in all races. My bike is now one of those bikes that I said I would never own, everything is either chromed podercoated or polished and I still take it in the dirt at Hollister hills. I enjoy sitting at the bottom of any comp hill and have people try to guess what kind of bike it is.
