Default P700 To clutch or not to clutch???

I have a 2005 P700 ( TP). Mods are HMF Exh, rejetted carbs, K&N filter, Moose power modual, 14" Cimax wheels w/ 26"Goodyear Rawhide Radials. I am considering a clutch kit. When you say kit is that just springs or the entire clutch? I have heard people who trail ride don't like the big stall action? How do you choose the springs to use and how hard are they to put in? Where do you purchase said springs? Thanks in advance.

The whole clutch kit comes with springs and weights. The whole kit is generally not needed because the performance increases you are more than likely looking for can be obtained by just changing out the primary spring. It is much cheaper to do the primary spring over the clutch kit ($20 spring vs. $180 clutch kit). You can get the springs at dennis kirk or straight from EPI or Dalton. To start out I would recommend either the EPI Maroon or Dalton Blue. Both will give a higher stall and shiftout for your bigger tires. Neither of these springs will negatively affect your trail riding like the high stall springs will.

Thanks MadLT,

Do you buy the springs seperate or several in a kit? Are'nt there 2 springs? How hard are they to install? Any special tolls needed? What power agains can I expect? Sorry for so many questions.

Thanks, Irish

All you need is a 10 mm socket to take your clutch cover off.19mm socket to remove clutch bolt <left handed thread>. Than take 8-10mm bolt off clutchface.change spring. reverse steps enjoy

Yes, there are two springs, but the primary is the one that will make the most difference in performance. You can buy the springs separately.
