hondaboy5, Yes you can! Kinda, You can get heavy duty springs and plates. Pretty much the same thing, wish I could remember the brand name I used on the boys Lakota. I do know my son ate the factory clutch in less than a year and hasn't had a problem in over 2yrs with the replacment

The pipe and filter do make a considerable differance. The jet kit is what really woke thing thing up!I don't know about the 2001's but the 98's were so under jetted it wasn't funny. According to Dynojet it was a 22% Hp increase, I don't think they were lying. The pipe is really loud but does help it out quite abit. The Lakota piped and jetted is a night and day differiance.
The clutch mods are not hard to do if you have a shop manual and the right tools. I did the boys with the motor removed from the machine while I was rebuilding the motor. I checked on the dealer cost to do it before the boy blew the thing up, it was only about 1hr labor so if you not real mechanicailly inclined I'd would proubly go that route.
Two pieces of advice on the Lakota run GOOD quality oil and change it often. Also watch your motor mounts for cracks especially the rear ones. I think every mount has been welded on ours now.
